Vail Restaurants

We are attending a wedding next week end and have Sunday free. Would like a good but casual place for dinner. Suggestions?

How casual?

Very casual would be Bart & Yeti's in Lionshead.

More upscale and a nice location in the Village, Mountain Standard.

But I think as far as dress is concerned, anywhere will be "casual".

Gretchen is right. This time of year especially, Vail will be more quiet and casual.

Believe it or not, DH was in Winter Park this weekend. Saturday was gorgeous, today rained, and tonight he thinks it will snow!

So be prepared with clothing layers and water-resistant shoes.

The Sonnenalp has a good restaurant/pub called Bully something. We've had lunch there often. It's good.

And Elways is good, if you want to spend more.

It's Bully Ranch at the Sonnenalp.

Mountain Standard is owned/managed by the Sweet Basil people. It's in the same area as Up the Creek.

But this is the time of year when the better, higher end restaurant tend to close for awhile. Last year at this time Sweet Basil was closed so you may have to do some checking around. Today it snowed seriously for the first time this Fall. The tunnel was a mess and Vail pass was closed for a short period. Some idiots cannot remember how to drive in snow.

Mountain Standard and Sweet Basil are both open Sunday, 9/29.

Another one I had forgotten that will be open on Sunday is La Bottega on East Meadow Drive.
