Vail Lift Tickets

Next month our family of four will be spending a week skiing at Vail. As of yet I have not been able to find any discounted lift tickets other than Vail's muti-day pass. Older Fodor postings suggest local ticket sources. Do they still exist? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

If you arrive at DIA, try (call them or web)one of the many Denver area King Soopers for discount tickets (might be 4 packs [4 tics/$100]left. I'm not sure if the other Kroger chain (City Market in the mountains)has them.

The King Soopers weekly circular does not list Vail on their discount lift ticket section. You might want to give them a call though to double check.

Breeze Ski Rental also sells discount tickets, but I don't know if Vail is included.

I don't think the 4 packs have been available since October or November.

Good Luck!

Thanks sylvia3 and wtm003 for responding.

I called King Soopers, City Market and Breeze--unfortunately none offer Vail tickets. It seems like Vail itself is the only place to get them. At least the skiing should be better than it is presently in Tahoe, albeit at a much steeper price.

I forgot to mention that many people sell their 4 packs if they can't use them on E-bay--we sold two of ours last year when I had foot problems.

I've successfully bought Gold C coupons for ski discounts on EBay. Its kind of like the Entertainment book only smaller. Don't know if Vail has anything in the Gold C or Entertainment Book this year. And you need to be sure that there aren't blackouts for your time frame.

Zippo in the entertainment book. Also, Vail wised up to the ebay trick. The Vail Resorts 4 pass had to be purchased in person this year because it now includes the user's photo.

I thought you had to have your photo taken the first time you used them?

Maybe in the past. I'm just reporting what we had to do this year.

They're getting to be real sticklers on the passes. My brother got a discounted ticket to Aspen this year and he had several locations in Denver on certain days in which to do so. He had his picture taken and they wouldn't even give him the pass that day. He had to pick it up in person with ID in Aspen.
