Just got back to Boston after a week in Park City. The skiing was great! We hit The Canyons, Park City, Deer Valley, and Alta. Alta by FAR had the best conditions-the place is unreal!
Since my group was more "budget" oriented, we ate pretty cheaply and had some good meals-The Wasatch Brew Pub was excellent. Also had a good plate of BBQ at Texas Reds on Main Street. The crowds were minimal, even over last weekend (MLK long weekend).
The town is gearing up for the Olympics-should be a great time for those going!

the olympics are going to be great, but the NBC coverage will be terrible as usual. get ready for hundreds of hours of emotional sob stories about random athletes and their families.

Can someone who has skied The Canyons in Park City please let me know how it was a beginner type skier and if the new condos at the base looked nice? Thank you in advance. We were going to Telluride but the prices of condos on the mountain are sky high this year as they have plenty of tourists.

Totally agree! NBCs coverage of the last few Olympics has been miserable! I would give anything if ABC could outbid them and start coverage again. ABC treats it like an actual SPORTING event! Imagine that....Personally, I plan to tape a lot and fast forward through the dreck!

hi Melinda! The Canyons has plenty of good beginner slopes like most of Utah's ski areas. The condos at the Grand Summit are very nice, so is their pool and hot tub area. The hotel restaurants have good food, but last year their service was the worst!! I haven't bothered going back, but hopefully they have improved.

If you are asking about the condos at The Canyons other that the Grand Summit, I have not been in them myself. The Red Pine condos are 1970s vintage w/ no garages. I understand they have some great packages available. Tourism is down due to Olympics - people seem to thing they go all winter!
