mikemo, In Cozumel last February there were a couple of times where the better deal was for me to pay in dollars.

Similarly, there are times and place s in northern Michigan where it cheaper to pay in Canadian dollars. For example there are days of the week where some of the US golf courses take Canadian dollars at par - a big savings.
