Universal On-Site Hotels
Planning a trip to Universal Florida during winter break in Feb 2002. Don't normally like to do theme parks during this time, but was planning to stay at the Hard Rock Hotel to take advantage of front of the line perk. Someone I worked with said that they had read on the internet that this practice was being eliminated and all visitors would be allowed the express option. Has anyone heard this to be true? This would defintely make me reconsider taking the trip.
Thanks

Hi, I was just at Universal and went to Islands of Adventure, it was great. I stayed at the Radisson Twin Towers which is right across the streest from Universal. We were able to reserve times for rides which did cut down wait time in lines a huge amount. I don't know if this is the same thing, but I enjoyed the hotel and my time at Islands of Adventure. And the "Express Line" feature really did help. This was open to everyone at the park, but it seems not everyone used it.

Spocker:
I stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel this past April. The place is beautiful! The front of the line was in effect while I was there, and it was the greatest perk I've ever experienced. If you're concerned about this perk being eliminated, call the hotel directly. They should be able to tell you their game plan. I must add that I would stay there again, even without the front-of-the-line. It's really that nice.

I agree with Patti 100% The Hard Rock was fantastic! Even nicer, IMO that the Portofino because of it's fabulous pool area and proximity to the parks - a 5 minute walk. Plus I just loved the Decor to say nothing of the FOTL. That was the icing on the cake. If I have to wait in line at a theme park again I just won't go!

Spocker- you may have gotten a half story from your friend... on-site guests always have express line privledges on all rides by just showing their room keys... all other park tickets have the ability to "sign-up" for express line for up to three rides each. Both hotel guests and the sign-ups go into the same lines for express, however those lines are far shorter than the regular lines... Hard Rock is a fun time, and you get to spend more time at the pool because you can fly through the parks quickly! have fun...

Spocker,
Stayed at the HRH the week of July 4. It's just not really "front of the line" anymore. You go right into the express line by showing your key. It's WONDERFUL! Walked on to just about everything. If you want great info on Universal and Islands of Adventure, fo to www.disboards.com
