New York City has literally hundreds of outdoor cafes in the warmer months (some of which are illegal, but that's irrelevant). They're everywhere, from the bohemian streets of the East Village to the wealthy Upper East Side avenues (particularly Second Avenue in the 70's). Unbelievable! And nothing like it in America.

Joey - how would you describe the places and people you mentioned in Dallas? Who goes, what's it like?

Its not really a large city if a city at all, but Mercer Island, Washington had that feel to it. What a nice place to live too. I was there on business and our client was located there, boy what a nice diverse population.
