Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach

We love Disney but have never gone to the water parks. I am traveling with my parents who are in their late 60's and my kids who are 4 and 6. Which water park is the best to go to? I have read both are great. Can the kids ride even if they are not 48 inches tall, but 6 yr. old is but my 4 year old is not but is more likely to want to ride stuff. Thanks.

Both are great. However, based on the ages in your group, I'd recommend Typhoon Lagoon. In my opinion, the rides / slides at Blizzard Beach are best for bigger kids (like me..in my 40's) Seriously, while both have areas that would suit your needs, Blizzard's slides are bit more intense.

You can't go wrong with either one. Typhoon Lagoon has the best Wave Pool of any place ( big waves too), while Blizzard Beach has bigger slides. We have been to several of the top waterparks in the country. These would tie for 2nd in my book for the best. The best one is Schlitterbahn near San Antonio. Disney waterparks are very good themed parks and like all Disney, things are done right. We have been to Disney 5 times and always say that our favorite times are at the waterparks. It can be crowded, but you still get to do everything and the crowds don't really bother you as much as in the parks. I suspect that your parents would like Typhoon better. There is sand near the wavepool and you can get a recliner chair and relax and people watch. There is still plenty of other good rides besides the wave pool at Typhoon as well.

Typhoon or Blizzard have rides that your 4 year old can join, but others have the minimum height. I agree with SiteCer that Typhoon is more sedate than Blizzrd, but you are OK at either.

Both Disney water parks are nicely done, well maintained and will be a great family day.
