Twin Cities in August
I am considering a long weekend sightseeing trip to Minneapolis/St. Paul in August. Is the weather unbearable then and would it be better to go the first part of August or the end of August as far as weather goes? Thanks.

Unbearable?
Depends on where you're coming from.
In Phoenix, August means 105-115 during the daytime. Charleston SC can mean 95 plus super high humidity.
People in MN complain when it hits 90 (mostly because it can be somewhat humid), so you have to keep it all in perspective. personally I've experienced very few miserable summer days in MN, but a load of them in AZ, SC, FL and TX.

Weather will be as others have mentioned. Not sure what you are into, but I believe there is a yearly art fair in the Uptown area (by some of the lakes) the first weekend in August. I went with friends a few years ago and it was cool. So that may be a reason to go in early August if you like that sort of thing. Or a reason to avoid early August!

In Mn you never know what kind of weather you will get in August. If you come towrds the end of the month, you will be here to enjoy the state fair. It's a little too soon for visiting the apple orchards and the good apple cider, but the blueberries at the farmers markets are great!
