Trolley Tours

I have a friend that travels with me that has arthritis in her knees and can not walk long distances. Can someone tell me which cities have interesting narrated trolley tours?

San Diego has a great trolley tour that takes you around to the highlights of the city.

Washington DC also has a good hop on and off trolley tour that is interesting.

San Francisco has a bus which is disguised as a cable car but I've never taken it. You could find out at www.sf-visitors.org There are old restored trolleys on Market Street, but it's not an official tour. The ferry is also a good tour for someone who can't walk a lot.

Janet,

Key West has two trolley tours that go all around the city. One lets you get off & get back on later or whenever you want. Here are the websites:

I agree, San Diego has a great trolley tour with on and off priviledges. This is different from some trolley tours which are just a narrated one hour trip. I thought Washington DC had a good tour as well but I don't recall if there was on/off priviledges. In San Diego you definitely want to get off and explore Old Town. We just took a Duck tour of Seattle which was fun. These are old amphibious vehicles so part of the tour is a short cruise on water. We floated around the floating houses in the lake. I've heard the Boston Duck Tours are great, they go in the Charles River.
