As Dallas was the first city that I have visited in the USA I have nothing to compare it to,I am thinking of visiting either Las Vegas and/or California .I would like to see San Francisco and LA and see the Grand Canyon.A local tour company offers a multi centre trip to Las Vegas and then to either/and LA or SF for 3 days in each,is this enough time to see enough of the cities to get an appreciation of them, and where is the best place to organise a trip to the Grand Canyon from??

Lived in Northwood Hills, Dallas for nearly 25 years until early '05 and do not miss it a bit!
Can't believe this post has so many responses, lol.
Buen viaje.

I've been to the Grand Canyon, I think the best place to start from is Vegas.

How come this link is talking about Dallas and now Grand Canyon?

I'm reading about the link because I am thinking of going to Dallas the 3rd week of September.

Because I started this post as I had booked a trip to Dallas and my next trip could be Las Vegas / Grand Canyon.
If you have not been to Dallas before the thread is well worth reading as there are some responses from very knowlegeable locals and ex Dallasites.

Hi Dabber!

Yep, I am reading the thread now, its so long.

So, you didn't rent a car then?

When will you be going to LV and the Grand Canyon.

I went to LV again last November. I stayed at the MGM. I didn't like it as much as Luxor. I stayed at the MGM because I went during an expensive time and MGM was in my price range. We went hiking at Red Rock Canyon, was a nice to do, since I've never hiked before.

I think the Paris Paris would be nice to stay at.

The first time I went to LV, we flew there stayed the night and then we drove to Grand Canyon for 2 nights and then came back and saw Sigfrey & Roy.

So, will you be driving to the Grand Canyon. They have helicopter flights to the Grand Canyon. They have the skywalk now, you should definitely go there. My friend suggested I go to Flagstaff and Sedona while I was there the first time. But we didn't make it. No time. But he saids now its more touristy then when he went.

Lots of walking in LV. Bring comfy shoes.
