Awesome trip report! I learned a great deal for my upcoming trip in August. Also, we are heading to Yellowstone and Grand Teton after the Grand Canyon. We are told those three are the best. For trip prep we used this site (for Grand Teton and Yellowstone):

What a neat site, mik2. We were considering Zion and Bryce next year but after reviewing Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons wonder if we should head there instead. Thanks for the confusion, lol. ;-) Enjoy a wonderful trip!

That was a great trip report and your pictures were fabulous. The sky was so blue and the air was clear.
I remember the first time I saw the Grand Canyon and even the second time, I continue to be amazed by Mother Nature.
