Trip From LA???
Hello all....
I am quitting my current job and am planning on taking a brief little excursion before I start my next job. The trip will be from August 3-4 to August 6-7. Anyone have any ideas on where to go from Los Angeles that would be cheap? I was thinking maybe vancouver or mexico city. I also would like to go to boston or san francisco too. Not Sure. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks!

"Cheap" is the sticking point. Of your choices, México DF is probably the cheapest, and Boston the most expensive (and on short notice, good lodging will be really hard to find anywhere). Vancouver or Seattle would be reasonable, I suppose, and Alaska flies out of a couple of airports here in the area.
How about an urban adventure-- say, Chicago? That's one of my favorite towns, and hotels usually aren't ridiculously priced. If you removed the price restriction, New York would shoot up to the top of the list IMHO.

Ive done chicago and NY so Im not in any sense of urgency to go back there. I was meaning more of like plane tickets the like. Of course mexico is dirt cheap as is canada and I can live in hostels and slum it up so to speak, no problems there. But im not wanting to spend more than, maybe 300, on plane tix. Are there any websites that show good last minute deals? Or one that has an open ended thing, like type in the departure city and they show you a list of all kinds of cities and their prices? I know ive seen that before but cant find it anywhere. Thanks

Google "last minute travel" and it will pull up all sites.
I think Expedia has it in 'deals' section, then go to 'last minute travel' If this doesn't work go to 'site map' Same with Travelocity or TravelZoo. Try also Yahoo Travel.
Search this forum for 'last minute travel', this was discussed before.
