Hi Kam - Welcome to Cleveland - as someone born and raised here, please feel free to e-mail me with specific questions you may have. To answer your question, Cleveland will be less than an hour's drive from Wooster. Is there anything specifically you were interested in seeing while in Cleveland-we have many museums, a fantastic zoo, home to the Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, a great Science Center, Geauga Lake Amusement Park, Sea World, and we're not too far from Cedar Point Amusement Park.

We stopped in Cleveland for an evening last week on our way to PA. and VA., and were happily surprised at how much there seems to be there. We had always heard Cleveland called "the Mistake on the Lake", but we really had a terrific time there, and are planning to go back for a long weekend. We only saw "The Flats", and the surrounding area (just driving around), but we spent a very enjoyable hour or so watching the huge freighters navigate through a very small channel next to the resteraunt we ate at, down in the Flats. We really were most impressed, perhaps because we had no great expectations, but I would say it's well worth a day trip! Have fun!

We live in Massillon which is one hour south of Cleveland. Since I am a native of Cleveland I always do the driving on trips. We find a lot to see and do museums, plays, hiking in parks, walking downtown, etc, etc. But we always like to end the day at Corky's and Lenny'san authentic Jewish deli and restaurant on Chagrin Blvd. in Beechwood (eastside) right off I271. Good Luck.

WE have relatives in Wooster and love Ohio. Do spend time in that are and all over Holmes County and it is enchanting. We drive all over the back roads and try all the restaurants. Such an interesting area with all the Amish living there. We also enjoy going to Cleveland and it is an easy drive and also a great place. WE also love Chagrin Falls and Vermillion, Ohio too. Lots of great things in Ohio. Enjoy your trip. WE are envious.

Just another vote for Cleveland - perhaps not enough there to spend an entire vacation but certainly enough for a few days. Hard to imagine that the Cuyahoga River (which goes through the Flats) was once so polluted that it caught on fire! No one has mentioned the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; it's worth seeing if you have even a passing appreciation of pop or rock music (including the blues and R'n B of the early 50's that launched Rock and Roll). The architecture is intriguing, the displays often entertaining and the historical trivia is fascinating.

Having been there several times, I think Cleveland is an excellent place for a one day trip. While my wife did her genealogy research in the library, I walked around the downtown enjoying the older architecture. While I haven't seen the rock hall yet, we had a fun time there. Also, I had an aunt that attended Wooster University.
