Travel To Sedona

There are several resorts in Sedona, unfortunately they are all on my electronic rolodex at work, but you should be able to find them on line. The most incredible thing about Sedona is the scenery. Drive down Oak Creek Canyon, go up in to the red rocks and always drive up to the churches. Wherever there is a church, there is an incredible view. I can't help with romantic restaurants as I've yet to find one. Good luck!

Ron,
I visit Sedona each year and you MUST stay at Enchantment Resort. It's located in it's own canyon witha to-die-for spa. The view at the outdoor terrace restaurant will take your breath away. It's pricey, but well worth it. Each room is a casita with a private deck. You will be sooooo happy!! I always eat at Pietros. Great Italian and the owner sells me this fabulous special vinegar from Naples that I have never found anywhere else. Enjoy!! Jamie

I agree - Enchantment Resort is absolutely breathtaking! Especially since you mention you want a romantic setting.
L'Auberge is a great French restaurant, my favorite breakfast place is CoffeePot - over 100 omelettes! Great prices too.
Take a jeep tour or something that I love doing - the helicopter tour - amazing - right into the canyons, red rocks, etc. - you can't see some things from the ground!
Go hiking through the state parks and the national forest - again, breathtaking views. Tube down the river.
Go to each of the "vortexes" - I'm not a "new agey" kind of person, but I swear, you can feel some kind of physical energy in Sedona that you don't get elsewhere.
Have a wonderful time - Sedona is really one of my most favorite places to visit (just returned from there last week actually!).

Did not find any romantic restaurants for dinner, but for breakfast, I highly recommend L'Auberge's creekside cafe. You sit at patio tables (with white tablecloths) and eat delicious food under the trees while gazing at a nice creek, watching the ducks swim by.

A wonderful place for dinner with great food and nice ambience is Shugrue's Hillside Grille. They have live music some nights (jazz or acoustic, very relaxing, not intrusive at all). The service is excellent. I had a memorable shrimp scampi. They have a website if you want to check out the menu: http://www.shugrues.com/hillside_grill.html
The same people own Javelina Cantina which is a casual place nearby for Mexican & southwestern food. It is great too, but I would not describe it as "romantic." We went there for lunch and really enjoyed it. They have a website too.

If you do a search of this forum using the word "Sedona" you will bring up lots more info, including a trip report I wrote last September on Grand Canyon & Sedona. It lists a couple of good hikes that I can't remember the names of.

We'll be traveling to Sedona for the first time in October and I too was looking for a romantic place to stay. We decided to stay at a B & B called the Adobe Village and Graham Inn in one of the casitas. I've not stayed there before but from everything I've read and heard it seems very romantic and wonderful. You can check out their website at www.SedonasFinest.com
If anyone has stayed here before and has any comments, I'd also appreciate hearing from them.

We have also stayed at Enchantment and are returning this year in September. It is breathtaking. Our most romantic meal was at the casual restaurant at Enchantment. We reserved an outdoor patio table 1/2 hour before sunset, watched the colors change over the rocks, ate a fabulous meal (off of the upscale restaurant's menu - ordered the pecan torte with Jack Daniels sauce and banana ice cream - yum!) then enjoyed capuccinos on the star gazing deck. I have written a trip report at http://www.epinions.com/content_2641.../tk_~CB005.1.8

To answer Gerry, Enchantment is not what might considered reasonable, but it is truly breathtaking. You can hike the most gorgeous trails right out of your casita. The view from the restaurant is stunning. At least drive out there for a meal or drink if you don't stay there.

Kathy - I think that Mii Amo spa at Enchantment might offer an outdoor massage. They offer some amazing new treatments. www.enchantmentresort.com

(I don't mean to sound like a billboard, but...)
Try Priceline for hotel reservations in Sedona. Others have been getting the Hilton resort for as low as $30/night, as you'll see at http://www.biddingfortravel.com/
I was in Arizona for the first time this weekend, and it was pretty amazing to see such a different landscape than the northeast where I am. The 30-minute drive on 89A was all the time we had to see Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon, though...waaaaay too short!
