Travel from Dallas, TX to Black Hills, SD
Trying to get the most bang for my buck in my family's first RV trip from Dallas to the Black Hills. I am trying to get any advice about other things to see either on our way there or on our way back. We are going for about 7 to 8 days. Look forward to hearing from the experts. I am a real novice, so any general RV advice would be greatly appreciated as well.
Thanks,
Jenny

We used to make this trip every summer (Central Texas to Black Hills) when I was a kid and we just drove straight through--no stops. To be honest, there aren't a lot of attractions along the route from Dallas to the Black Hills. It's going to take close to 18 hours to drive that route without stops, so with such a short amount of time for this trip (assuming the 7 - 8 days is for driving to/from Texas and sightseeing in the Black Hills), I would just drive as much as you can without stopping so you can maximize your time in the Black Hills. There's tons of things to see and do once you get to South Dakota.

Check out the RV.net forums for expert RV advice re routes, campgrounds and attractions. It is a long haul so I hope you have more than one driver to maximize the distance you do every day. Have fun, it is a great area for a family trip!
