Tram from Epcot to Contemporary

Odd question. We have a 2YO that will likely need to nap during the day. Anyone know how long it will take from the moment I get on the tram at Epcot to the moment I step off the tram and the Contemporary hotel? How long for the return trip. I do understand there is a tram switch involved. We want to see if we can bring the little one back for a nap and then make it back in time for a 2:30 lunch at Norway. Thanks.

You need to make a switch at the main station. If you figure in waiting for trams at each place I would expect at least 20 minutes from door to door. But staying at the Contemporary with such a young child is a very good idea. Convenience is everything.

I would allow AT LEAST that long if not longer and it will depend on the time of day and the number of people waiting to take the monorail.

And you will have to make a station change at the Ticket and Transportation Center station as I recall. And the return trip will again involve that same change of monorail train.

Are you absolutely committed to the Contemporary which is wonderful for the Magic Kingdom and obviously more remote from Epcot and MGM Studios.

I honestly think 20 minutes from start to finish is kinda optimistic

I vaguely recall there being a transit time chart in the Unofficial Guide to WDW but its been years since I've looked at that. You might want to look into that or another faster option may be to post your question at disboards.com. There isn't a question about WDW that hasn't been asked and answered over there.

You may want to visit the MK that morning - it will be a quicker journey back to the Contemporary for your nap (you can even walk it very quickly) and then head over to Epcot. Don't forget that Norway is at the back of the World Showcase - about as far from the monorail station as you can get - it will be a bit of a walk. After lunch enjoy the rest of Epcot.

An alternative for going back to Epcot is to go to the Yacht and Beach Club / Boardwalk and take the ferry to EPCOT. This would put you into the park near Norway. Not sure of the logistics to go hotel to hotel...
