Tour Companies
I am looking to take tours of the United States and Canada. I just did a leaf peeping tour with Globus. They were very good but would also like to try other companies. I usually travel alone and like to go in comfort. Collette Tours has some trips I'd be interested in. Anybody have experience with them? What other companies would you recommend or not recommend? I have a wide variety of interests: nature, cities, gambling, relaxing, culture - not usually beach resorts (but I do think Hawaii is beautiful).
Thanks, Rona

Hello ronacele!
Ive not traveled with them myself but my Aunt highly recommends travcoa:
http://www.travcoa.com/
Also, here is something I found after doing a “luxury tour” search in google:
http://www.luxurytour.com/
The offer tours through lots of top companies such as:
ABERCROMBIE & KENT
AMERICAN ORIENT EXPRESS
COX & KINGS
INTRAV & CLIPPER CRUISES
MAUPINTOUR
ORIENT EXPRESS
TAUCK WORLD DISCOVERY
TRAVCOA
Plus, this site allows you to search for tours based on your interests, like you mentioned! Ive looked at the tours on luxurytours.com many, many, many times and just dreamed about how amazing it would be to take some of these trips! One thing I found was that the luxurytours website doesnt offer every tour available through the above companies so Id also check out each individual site to see if they have anything that better suits your needs!
Hopefully this information helps a bit!
Have a great day!

We just finished our fourth tour with Grand Circle Tours www.gct.com and have enjoyed all of them. The accommodations have been very nice and the included meals are always good. When we stay in a large city, we are usually within walking distance to shops, restaurants, etch. We were just in Seattle and were at the Red Lion on 5th, right off Pike.
We've had single men and women on our tours. Some travel alone, others have 'roomed' with another single (always same sex). We are looking forward to our next trip.

Hi Rona,
I like Collette a lot. They aren't the cheapest out there but I find they keep optional tours to a minimum and thier hotels are nice and really well located. Many outfits are offering too many optional tours. It's best to ask for a list of optional tours BEFORE booking a tour. I was looking at Italy recently and Trafalgar was charging to see the art in Florence (the statue of David..etc)..isn't that why we go there in the first place? Globus charges for a farewell dinner now? $70+ just to say goodbye to everyone over dinner. That is tacky! If I want to pay that much for sightseeing I'd take a cruise!
