Too Much Fun or Just Right?
Will we be trying to do too much in 10 days if we... fly into Las Vegas(1 night) drive into Los Angeles (1-2 nights), Grand Canyon( 1 night), then head to Zion park, 4 corners area, back through Arizona seeing things on the way back to Las Vegas? My husband and I will be travelling with our 13 and 15 yr. old children , and are trying to mix nature adventures inn with a little big city excitement. What do you think?

I disagree slightly from the other posters. LA will be a nice change from the desert. Stay by the beach!
Why not stay in Vegas for more than one night? There's a lot to see along the strip and can span a few days if you take your time exploring the hotels and take rests in between.
But, it sounds like you'll do a lot of driving. I'd shave off some time in Arizona. Other than Grand Canyon, there won't be too much different to see and it might bore your teens (I know it did when I was that age).

LA just doesn't seem to fit into the schedule. Try Vegas for 2 days, then go to Zion for a day or two, hit Hoover Dam on the way to Grand Caynon, then stop by Sedona AZ for a day. You should still be able to fit in the painted dessert and Bryce Caynon. Maybe this isn't the best order of events, but it's plenty of stuff for a 10 day trip. Don't waste it all in the car! Enjoy!!

If you are set on doing LA, you can (you used to be able to) get very cheap flights from Las Vegas to LA. I think southwest was one airline and it was about $29 one way. You may want to check into it. Also, depending on which airline you are flying , you may be able to fly into Las Vegas and out of LA for the same price. I forget what they call that. Then you could got o LA at the end and that would save you from backtracking to Las Vegas.
