Timing of Sunset on the Californian Coast
Hi there!
Okay, this may seem like a silly question ... but around what time can we expect sunset when on the Californian coast? We'll be traveling up the coast in about 2 weeks, and would like to make some of our plans (and restaurant reservations etc.) so that we maximize the number of beautiful sunsets we see over the ocean...
Internet research is suggesting around 7:00 - does this sound right?
Thanks!
Jenn

At that time of year, it will be about 8:00-8:30, depending on you location.

Hi, alwaysafrica:
Check out this site. Just type in the name of the city you want to go to:
http://www.timeanddate.com/
For San Francisco, the sunset will be at 8:22pm tonight.
So you 7pm is way too early.

Thank you so much - I guess it wasn't a silly question after all!!! Now I can do some real planning.
I usually prefer a later sunset (I hate it when you show up somewhere and sunset is at 6p.m.!), but now that we're traveling with our 1-year-old son, I was actually hoping that it'd be a little bit earlier... Oh well, I guess DS will just have to stay up late some nights!

Up here in the San Francisco area - there is a pretty good chance there will be fog - and no sunset to be seen. The last two days have been foggy - and so is today - and also the forecast for the next few days.

Thanks Stu. I must admit that I'm hoping we don't have fog for our ENTIRE 2-week trip from San Diego to San Francisco , but I'm trying to stay positive!
And if we do get a ton of fog, we must remember that fog can be very romantic and create a beautiful atmosphere (lovely for photos).
