Julie, I am a member of TUG-Timeshare Users Group at www.tug2.net. It's a BBS set up for and written by timeshare owners, NOT by the developers or resorts. There is a special section on Florida-and if you are a member you can access the review data base of over 1600 resorts around the world. I would guess that Florida's review section is the largest.
Since joining TUG about 3 years ago I have learned so much about buying, exchanging and using timeshares--and we bought our first in '83! Check out the website and see what TUG has to offer. Membership is $15 the 1st year, $10 after that. To access the BBS, use your email address and ANY password you want. When you become a member you will get a special password that will get you into the reviews. Tell them I sent you, please-that will help pay my next years membership. We have even met a few of the people we "talk" to on the BBS and the chat's. Please check us out, or email me direct for more information. Thanks, JoAnn

We stayed at the Hampton Resort in Kissimmee a year ago. Huge "rooms" (actually a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment), GREAT grounds and pool area. We loved it, but didn't buy because we probably won't be going to Dis too often.
Tons of retaurants nearby. Not real close to Dis, but still only maybe a 10-12 minute drive. Check it out.

Julie, I stayed at Oasis Lakes in May. I'm not sure of the proximity to Disney, but it is very close to Sea World, (I've heard Disney is about 15 Minutes away). The condo we stayed in was new and beautiful, and the property is very nice. The property was quiet in the afternoons, I think most of the families went to the parks. We enjoyed the indoor/outdoor pool. We had a Jacuzzi in our condo, and a wonderful screened porch. When I've gone to Orlando with my family we prefer to stay on Disney property, which is very expensive. I have three children and Disney properties seem to cater to families of four. Once we stayed at the Holiday Inn Sunpree Resort in Buena Vista, which we enjoyed a lot. The room was huge, the pool was great, the location is great. We've also stayed at the Boardwalk in Disney. The room was smaller, but we enjoyed being in that Disney atmosphere. I can't help you with the other timeshares in Orlando, but I can tell that Oasis Lakes was clean, comfortable, and I would recommend it. Feel free to contact me if you have more questions. Cheri
