Times Square restaurant -- Serafina

I was in a taxi going through Times Square the other day (don't ask -- must have been the driver's first day on the job!) and happened by a new outpost of one of my old favorites, Serafina. It is on W 55th and Broadway. The one on the Upper East Side has yummy wood-grilled pizzas, salads and pastas. A decent wine list. Casual, but nice. Just thought I'd mention it for those of you who are looking for a bite in the area.

It's in the Dream hotel and opened when the hotel opened. They now have 5 locations around the city.

how is the food; might this work for my previously posted query of where to eat with a 6-year old after the store windows and tree during the week between Christmas and New Years? I notice they are on opentable.com which is convenient.

Thanks!

Also sound like a good idea for our 'walk back' to Affinia Manhatten on NYE after the RCMH xmas show, thanks.

It's good thin crust pizza.

For marymarra, it's not exactly convenient to Fifth Ave unless you're staying west. Where will you be going after you eat and is this lunch or dinner? I don't remember seeing your question, but the American Girl store restaurant would be ideal for lunch.

Aussiedreamer, it would be fine for heading to Affinia but there are also lots of other choices including Virgil's BBQ, Via Brasil, Trattoria Trecolori, John's pizzeria, Angelos pizza (in the Ed Sullivan theater where Letterman is taped)....

McLaurie--good point; I am going to avoid American Girl (mean mommy, it is just too much that week!!). It would be for dinner--probably after we see the tree at Rockefeller Center; ironically we are also staying at the Affinia Manhattan. Does Angelos Pizza have more than pizza?

Thanks!

Mary

Yes, they also have pasta dishes. Both Serafina (55 st) and Angelo's (53-54 st) are a few blocks out of your way from Rock. Ctr. (50 st & Fifth) to Aff. Manhattan. (7th ave & 31 st).

There's a Two Boots pizza in the food court of Rock. Ctr. There are 2 Heartland Brewery places, 1 on 6th & 51 st, the other nearer Times Square. John's pizzeria that gets mentioned a lot is on west 44 st if you plan on walking the whole way.
