Three suggestions:
1. Heard Museum, perhaps the finest Native American museum in the country.
2. Desert Botanical Gardens.
3. Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesen West in Scottsdale.

I'd sure go along with Howard's suggestions, especially 1 and 3 and, in addition, hike Squaw Peak or North Mountain, go downtown to see the America West Arena(Phoenix Suns) and Bank One Ballpark(BOB and home of Diamondbacks)...can eat at TGI Friday's at BOB for great inside view...also downtown is Arizona Center, lots of restaurants and quality touristy type shops. You are very lucky to be staying at Royal Palms, great location for getting around. Also go to old Scottsdale area....all directions from your concierge.

I would go to the grand canyon, if you have a car--it's about a 3 hour drive, as I recall

Dinner at Camelback Inn is a real treat - try to time it so that you will be there for sunset.

The Glendale area has some fun shopping and the Borgata in Scottsdale is fun to see but very expensive.

Dinner at the Boulders is also great if you will have a car. It is a 2.5 hour drive to Tucson, which is a great place to visit!! Have fun....

Get up early and drive to Sedona. I think it's about a 2 hour drive, but worth it. A great day trip.
