Theater Reccos? - Off-Broadway, Off-off Broadway Jan 14-15
Hi, New York Fodorites!
Anyone heard of some interesting dramatic plays happening Sat/Sun 1/14-15. I'll check out Playwrights Horizon, Bleeker Street... others elude me at the moment. Brooklyn is OK, too.
Also, I went to UCB Theatre for improv once (Assscat 3000). Are there any other improv clubs you know of? (More long-form, don't like scripted comedy shows.)
Many thanks in advance for any reccos.

Check of seasonofsavings.com for a flock of discount offers for both on and off-Broadway.
Other Desert Cities (though technically is playing on Broadway now) would indeed be a good choice. It's on the discount offers in the aforementioned promotion.

Thanks very much. All good reccos. The two plays mentioned may really work for me.
I'm also thinking of 'Richard III' at the BAM-Harvey Theatre. They say the 2,3,4 and 5 trains run to the Nevins stop. If my play is over at, say, 10:30 p.m., does the train feel relatively safe to go back to Soho? There's a "Bam Bus" service that takes audience members back to Manhattan for $7. Any thoughts? (I'm a single woman, used to taking public transportation in Chicago... but I travel in fairly safe neighborhoods... similar, I imagine, to this area of Brooklyn and to Soho. But wanted to ask...)
Thanks to all who replied. I was really hoping to see 'Sleep no More,' but no luck. Every performance is sold out.

Even if there is no BAM bus, there is plenty of subways nearby that go back into the City.
