The Secret Life of Sets Exhibit NYC - Any Info?
Does any one have information regarding "The Secret Life of Sets: Set Decorators at Work" exhibit that is scheduled to be at the Conde Nast Building March - May 2005? Here is what I've found so far: The exhibit started at the Set Director's Society of America the went to Toronto, Chicago and will end in New York. The exhibit contains the sets and items created for The Cat in the Hat, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, Down with Love, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, The Haunted Mansion, Spider-Man 2 and Van Helsing. Behind-the-scenes displays feature film clips, artwork and photos. I'm trying to confirm that the exhibit is actually there as I can't find any more info on the dates/location, and I also wanted to know some details about exhibit times, etc. Thanks!

Well, here's the Canada part, where it's already left (closed in January 2005): http://207.139.69.164/tourism_toront...annel_to2.html
I too had difficulty finding out info for its future runs in Chicago and NY...even their own webpage doesn't give those details. Maybe you can email them, the website is http://www.setdecorators.org/index.html
Good luck!

Well, I e-mailed the Set Director's Society and so far no reply. I'm going to try to give them a call later today. In the meantime I thought I'd "top" this and see if any of our NYC locals knew anything about this. If anyone works or lives in the vicinity of the Conde Nast building, have you seen any indications of this being on exhibit? Thanks!

Margie was referring to the Conde Nast Building in Times Square in NYC. Conde Nast, via Architectural Digest magazine, is one of the sponsors of the show. Since it's in Times Square, perhaps we should be appealing to visitors rather than locals to check in on it!

Yes, I am referring to the exhibit in NYC, it has already left Toronto and Chicago. I thought that perhaps a local would have some info because the Conde Nast building is hardly a tourist "hot spot", most have probably walked by it and not haven known what it was. I thought that someone working or living in nearby might have heard of it or seen some information.
