We got our tickets at the box office in the summer and they were $120 each-so the price sounds right. We thought it was worth it.Also, timing might be why tickets are available, there were tickets available for Mama Mia on New Years Eve..but not the other nights that week.Hope you go-it is very funny and entertaining.

I bought tix thru an internet site two weeks ago. Bought tix and had them FedEx'ed to my hotel, all on 24 hour's notice before the show. Tix were waiting for me when I checked in, no hassle.
There are tix available for ANYTHING you want to see...theater, Super Bowl, World Series...you name it. But you'll pay a hefty premium sometimes if you want good seats.
Understand that the $150 seats for the Producers will likely be balcony seats. But it's a small theater.

Read recently that Nathan Lane will not be appearing in shows on Tuesday nights and WEdnesday matinees. Not sure of Wednesday night performances. His stand- in will appear. This will continue for the remaining time left on his contract.
That might be the reason for the $150 price.. Check to see if Lane is appearing for the show you might be attending.

Answering previous posters:
1. The Producers is indeed still selling out and will for some time yet! 2. Those $150 tickets are probably being sold by scalpers (legally or otherwise). Rachel could very well be correct that the seats are in the balcony. Thus, you'd be paying at least twice the face value of the tickets. Still, based on frequent comments on the forum, you should be able to see okay.
3. kateconrad, if you got your tickets at the box office, they should have cost you $100 each, not $120!
4. Nathan Lane is only doing six shows a week for at least the next few weeks. He will be performing Wednesday evenings through Sundays. His understudy (who's gotten good word of mouth) is Brad Oscar, who usually plays the Nazi playwright in the show. (There is talk of negotiations with both Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick to extend their contracts through mid-March.)

I too was going to say that Kate, you were taken if you think you paid $120 each for seats through the box office. The highest price seats are $100. Either you paid cash and someone in the box office pocketed the extra $20 each ticket (pretty hard to imagine), or you bought them through a service that tacked on $20 extra fees per ticket (quite logical).

Thanks for the info. I think the seats are in Mezz N. Seems I found the cheapest ones to be in that section from other sites as well. Must not be very good seats. Also, found out it is Wed matinee so it will be the understudy. Haven't decided what to do yet. I just don't want to pay the $200 and up tickets right now.

I do remember the man on the street asking for tickets and he said price didn't matter -we thought about it for a minute-but Nah...waited too long to see it-loved it~Happy Holidays~

Many people attending next Wednesday's matinee will learn Nathan Lane will not be performing. They can request a refund. Should this happen tickets may be available, at the box office, for the matinee performance. It may be possible tickets can be picked up at face value from people who don't want to see the show without Lane and don't want to wait, in line, to get their money back.

Karen, I may be heretical for saying so, but I didn't think Nathan Lane was so amazingly great that seeing the show with a talented understudy in his place would reduce my enjoyment by some significant amount.
Nathan's great, but the show's great for many other reasons.
Personally, I'd still pay a small premium over face value to see the show without Nathan. Otherwise you'll wait until spring to get face value tix from the box office.
