The Breakers, Tipping and Taxis

Can someone tell me if tipping is not done at the Breakers in Palm Beach. I was reading a review and one of the people said they never had to tip as it was against their policy. Is this true?

Also, we will be traveling with our 2 year old. I also read the Breakers have a shuttle to town. Can kids go on shuttles without their safety seat? What about taxis????

When we had a very expensive buffet brunch at the Breakers, they added in an 18% tip, which we thought was a bit high for clearing dishes and pouring coffee.

We tipped the concierge for making dinner reservations in town. When we arrived we were comped 4 desserts because of his relationship with the restaurant.
