I'm partial to Bubba Burgers in Kapaa on Kauai. Not the greatest hamburger you'll ever have, but hey...you're in Hawaii!

Hi RazzleDazzle! Our son spent five years at Sonoma State's Hutchins School, and still lives in Santa Rosa, but this is the first time I've heard of Mike's at the Yard. Although I've consumed the lifetime quota of 20 hamburgers, I may just have to remedy this oversight. Thanks a bunch for the tip.

We need a hamburger smiley.

For those of you willing to leave you city bugers for a whole in the wall restaurant that serves the best cheeseburger...head to Russellville, Arkansas. This is a tiny "grease trap" that has been around forever, and sits across from the local university. It is the original Feltner's Whattaburger - this restaurant is not associated with the chain restaurant Whataburger. Anyway it is worth the drive to the middle of no-where, and it will only cost you about $5 for a burger, fries and a drink.

The "greatness" of a great burger is obliterated without and an equally good order of french fries to go with it. The Ranchman's Cafe in Ponder, Texas aces both. The burgers are made with 100% pure beef, ground on-premise from their steak trimmings. They are cooked medium-well and served on a toasted bun with mustard, romaine lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle. And the fries are cut from an Idaho potato only seconds before they are fried. In other words, they don't even cut them till you order them. ...let alone fry them! No chemicals and no preservatives....just incredible taste. Check it out at www.ranchman.com. The Food Network has discovered it and so should anyone else else who can. Ponder is a dusty little town under an hours drive from the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Bonnie and Clyde was filmed there and the bank where the filming took place is still there. It's a little off the beaten path which just adds to its charm.

Ditto on "Five Guys" burgers - wow!! Has anyone been to a "Cheeseburgers in Paradise?" One is opening in our town soon, and I was wondering what the place it like.
We also like Fuddrucker's burgers.

Peter Luger's in Williamsburg at lunch. price can't be beat - it's like 6 bucks...Expect brusque service with your beef, with old waiters who think their still in a goulag.

WAY off in North Texas.....
He says you have to eat at Keller's in Dallas, but he fails to mention Kincaid's in Fort Worth. There's NO comparison in my book!!

By far the best burger in America, IMHO, is at the Roaring Fork in Scottsdale.
