We'll be staying at Hotel Monaco in San Francisco over Thanksgiving and need reservations for a restaurant that's serving a traditional holiday dinner. I hope we didn't wait too long. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have not dined at any of these restaurants for Thanksgiving, but if I had to choose I would probably select One Market. Avoid Stinking Rose.

I just saw an ad in the paper today that said all of the Lark Creek Restaurant Group restaurants (including One Market) will serve a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner

No, you're not too late, maybe a little early. Soon, probably within a couple of weeks, opentable.com will compile a list of places serving Thanksgiving dinner - and the map feature will show where they are. The SF Chronicle, sfgate.com, usually makes a list too so watch the food section and/or Michael Bauer blog there. I think sfweekly.com does too. There will be varied price ranges and some will be prix fixe while others will be buffet style.

If you're feeling adventurous, Hornblower Yachts might have something special for Thanksgiving. The Carnelian Room is set to close for good at Xmas -- the view from up there is spectacular (not sure anymore about the food, and it's very pricey). If it's before dark, the Cliff House has a nice Pacific Ocean view too but you pretty much need a car to get there. And speaking of pricey, there's Gary Danko, Michael Mina, Masa's and Fifth Floor.

You can use yelp.com to read reviews and get a feel for restaurants you are considering. Their listings usually have the phone#/web address for restaurants . They might have photos too.

Carnelian Room does have a beautiful view, but IMO, the food is overpriced and isn't all that good. Quality there has slipped quite a bit.

Thank you everybody. I'll be reading up on these restaurants and making a decision. A lot of places aren't taking reservations yet.

We got a reservation at One Market. I can't wait. The Thanksgiving menu is posted on their website and it sounds very good. Thanks again.
