The "Getting By" tour. The apartment is filled with all of the actual items from the Baldizzi family. IIRC, when they moved out, every single thing went into some sort of storage. So, when the tenement opened as a museum, the family donated the items.

I could be wrong, but I think the Baldizzi's are the only family whose experiences they were able to record for the tour.

I think we did the Piecing it Together tour. It was execllent!! I am sure all the tours are great. I would have done more if I had the time. Buying your tickets in advance is your best bet at getting the times that work for you. We also took a private wlaking tour of the Lower East Side that was AMAZING. The guy was so knowledgable and we stopped for great snacks (pickels, bialys, donuts.) Here is the website . . . http://www.walknyc.com/les.htm his name was James and his wife is Michele. This must be booked in advance. Have fun.

We also did the Piecing it Together tour (both my grandfathers were tailors, so there was a reason we chose that one) and we found it very interesting, as did friends of ours who were just there last week. I'm sure all the tours are excellent.

We have done several of the tours and can't say one was better than the other. Each was its own learning experience and valuable. I would just book whichever tour best fits your schedule.
