Tempe / Phoenix - Christmas

What to do this Holiday between Christmas and New Year - 26th, leaving the 1st. 8 adults; What great restaurants do you recommend? Would love a cooking class, or chef come to our airbnb? Anything else we should do? Never been there. Any help is appreciated.

A general consensus concludes that Phoenix doesn’t have much to offer, but Tempe and Scottsdale might be of some interest. Tempe has the tree- and brick-lined Mill Ave. Which has bookstores, boutique shops and restaurants. The well-landscaped ASU campus has palm trees and an art museum which has 19th & 20th Century paintings including Winslow Homer and Georgia Okeeffe. Other attractions in the city include Tempe Town Lake, Sea Life Acquarium and Mesa Grande Cultural Park. Nearby is Old Town Scottsdale with its Western-style rustic storefronts and wooden sidewalks. It’s known for its high-quality jewelry. Butterfly Wonderland which houses hundreds of butterflies, has more butterflies than any other such facility.

The Heard Museum in Phoenix is excellent, features Native American art and artifacts.
Go hiking in one of the area's mountainous parks.
ASU's Gammage Theater was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. His home/studio Talisen West is in the eastern part of Scottsdale so visit it too.. Botanical Garden, Zoo..etc.
Was there a special reason you chose to visit this area? Weather that time of year can be great or iffy, cold.
