Telluride ski-ing query: enough black runs for one weeks ski-ing?
I wonder if anyone could convince my husband that a week in Telluride would be OK for an experienced skier? I ski mainly blues and love what I have read about this resort, but my husband is worried that their will not be enough to keep him from being bored. It will be our first vacation away from the two kids, and I thought the place looked pretty picturesque, coupled with good ski-ing made it my first choice. He thinks Snowmass would be better. Please help!

Hi Fiona, I think that you as an intermediate skier have more of a risk of getting bored than your expert husband. I ski mainly double blues/single blacks and I love Telluride, but after a couple days, I wish I could be off with my expert friends who are doing all the double black runs. *They* certainly never seem to get bored and looking at the double black runs from the chairlifts, I can't imagine any of them being boring! I went to Telluride almost every year for about five years back in the late 80s/early 90s and have been a few times since. I love it.

Telluride is a great mountian with lots of varied terrian and steeps. I'm an advanced skier and found plenty to ski for a week. The town is very picturesque but a bit more "trendy" now then 10 years ago...still fun just a bit more Hollywood. We stayed in a great condo right on the mountain I believe it was called "Cimmaron" a literal stones throw from the chair. Lots of good restaurants too!
