Why not end your trip in Albuquerque? Do whatever you want to do to the north and then spend the last one/two nights in Albuquerque. There's still things to see and do in Albuquerque. Then you wouldn't have to worry about driving all the way back to the airport on flight day.
Agree with Tent Rock, Bandelier, Santa Fe, Taos, Acoma, Enchanted Circle, Abiquiu - and will add Los Alamos for its history.
