Tahoe in the summer
I've only been to Tahoe for winter ski trips with my ski club. My only experience with Tahoe is staying in ski condos, so I'm not familiar with any other types of lodging. I'd like to take my teenage nieces there this summer. Please recommend some full service hotels, lodges, or condos.
I'm pretty open to any city in the Tahoe area. I'm mainly intereted in someplace with lots of outdoor recreational activity, or at least someplace very close. I would like accomodations that are at least 3 star.

Your nieces may be interested in Zephyr Cove. There are lots of water sports and action going on. Also Camp Richardson has a good beach with lots of things to do.

We've been going to Incline Village every summer for years, and now own a Hyatt Timeshare. The resort is a great place for teens. The beach is nice, and you can rent kayaks, boats, catamaran rides, etc. They have a Sunshine on Sale package where you get a night free after staying a certain number of nights and that includes a breakfast buffet. New pools and Spa, as well.

We spent a week at the Hyatt while they were going through their renovation because you couldn't beat the deal. It was great since we always stay on the west side in a cabin. We had a great time. Now that the renovation is complete the hotel is very nice and the pool and spa are fantastic. The beach is great but the wind does come up in the afternoon making swimming a bit rough. Incline is very fun. You can even catch a Shakespeare play at Sand Harbor. They are putting on 3 instead of 2 this summer for the first time!
