I've been on the Cyprus Swamp Tour twice and had fun both times. They provide transportation, but do yourself a favor and just go for the half-day rather than the long trip. You can only see so many herons, gators, and nutria before it becomes time to see other sites.

I took the Honey Island Swamp tour last Spring. Yes, you see alligators because the guide feeds them marshmallows to get them to approach the boat. I was actually more interested in the rest of the swamp life and trees and stuff. It was fascinating, and well worth the money. I'd never seen a swamp before, and there's nothing else like it.

Hi Heather,
We did Honey tour last summer and it was great. I took about 50 pictures during the tour! We saw lots of alligators and there was no mosquitos. One tip: arrive early. The tour was schedule for 9:00 am and the boat left at 8:30. You should phone the day before to know the exact time. Swamp tour is a must when you go to NO. Have fun and don't forget french beignets at Le café du monde!
