Thanks for checking back! The trip was great - I LOVED Seattle. NEWS FLASH - It's still winter there! Duh, I felt like such a dummy for not packing enough warm clothes, but that was easily solved. We just bought some new ones.
We did all the touristy things - We really loved the acquarium. We also did the Space Needle, Underground Tour, Lock Cruise, two rides on the ferry to Bainbridge, and the Science Fiction Museum, which my son loved.
The Inn at the Market is a great hotel. It was really neat getting up each morning and walking a block to the Pike Place Market for breakfast. We had breafast at Lowell's in the market each morning. Just couldn't resist that view. We even ate dinner there once. The one problem we ran into is that all the sort of "affordable" little restaurants in our hotel area closed at 6pm, so we had to either eat early (like we did at Lowell's one evening) or eat expensive. We ate at Cafe Campagne, the Pink Door, and Wild Ginger (my favorite!). Taking a 10 year old to Cafe Campagne is an expensive proposition! But the food was really good.
I'd love to go back again - preferably in the summer when it was warmer. Probably would want to rent a car at some point next time. Thanks to all on this board who helped me get ready for this trip. I really appreciate it!
