Superbowl in San Diego!... Yeeeeaah!

Is there a nice hotel in SD to stay at for this event? Close enough, quiet, not jammed in by traffic?

And, fellow Fodorites, which two teams do you all think are going to make it, and which one is going to TAKE IT?!!

I say Jets versus Bucs, and the Bucs taking it. GO BUCS!

If you don't have a room yet, you've waited too long. How pathetic to spend all that money on tickets to the Super Bowl and then wait until the last minute to get a hotel room.

Yeah Jets! I think they have a shot at it this year! They're going to be throwing all over the Raiders tonight.

I'm for the 49ers, but things are looking pretty bleak here now. Hoping that there's a little magic left for us! Jets?! You have got to be kidding me. I just can't see them getting past Oakland or any other of the remaining AFC.

Is Monthrash your real name? Sorry bud, I don't think that even a bad call can turn things around for you today.

Billy, a week or so ago, very few hotels were booked up for the game, but now that it's becoming more clear who might be coming, that mey not be the case. The Mission Valley/Hotel Circle hotels were still available. Most of the downtown hotels are booked. The NFL has its HQ at the Marriott downtown and the NFL Experience is near the Convention Center downtown. I think every hotel in San Diego county has really bumped their rates up for Superbowl week. It's really a shame that they do that.

I'd kind of like to see the Raiders play the Bucs and their former coach, but I don't want the Raiders to win in San Diego!

Since the Jets just lost to Oakland, I'll pick Oakland for the AFC and my hometown Bucs for the NFC with the Bucs taking it all this year.

Who needs a hotel? Quiet and SuperBowl do NOT go hand in hand.

The Hilton Beach and Tennis Club is one of my favorite hotels. It might be pricey, but they truly treat you right, and don't nickel and dime you. It's right on Mission Bay, and pretty much isolated by itself.

I think there are plenty of rooms available. You might try the Bahia Hotel in Mission Beach or Pacific Shores in Pacific Beach both are 10 mins away from everything and on the beach. Please no Raiders in the Super Bowl.

Billy,
We obtained last minute tickets to the SB in Atlanta, and had to stay an hour out of town. I wouldn't be too picky at this point; start calling the major chains and take the first room available. There will probably be no bargains. I hope you have a great time and wish I could be there also. GO TITANS!!!!! The Titans/Steelers game was one of the best I've seen in ages. Steve McNair is awesome!!!
