Minnesota is the main drag linking the airport and downtown. The motel is much closer to the airport than to downtown. Super 8 is usually an okay chain.
For what it's worth, people are hitting the Sheraton on Priceline for under $50 (I just scored $47 for late July/early Aug.) If you haven't pre-paid the Super 8, it might be worth a shot. Use www.biddingfortravel.com for pointers.

Thanks,
I appreciate the info. I had considered priceline, but there are three of us traveling together, and it seems like they dont guarantee two beds. Do you know if its possible to bid on two rooms? I wasnt aware of bidding for travel website, so thanks

My husband and I just got back from Alaska yesterday. Our flight left Anchorage at 2am so we checked into the Super 8 for a 1/2 day rate of $41 to get some sleep. The hotel is on the main drag and not far from the airport. It's not much to look at from the outside...not the best location... but the room was clean...two double beds, cable TV, AC...but no frills. Limited noise from the highway but that may be because we had the AC running. For the 6 hours we spent there, we were satisfied.
