Sunday River / Bethel

Have booked a ski trip for January. Wife and daughter would like to take a day out to go shopping. Any ideas on good shopping locations as Bethel seems quaint but a little limited for shopping.

North Conway, NH is not all that far away. Portland, ME would be another idea.

Not much shopping in Bethel. No. Conway would be the closest thing.

Definitely North Conway. Just a one hour drive and NO SALES TAX! Shopping (especially tons of outlets) heaven!

If you want some really nice locally made jewelry go to Perham's of West Paris, ME. It's just down the road a bit from Bethel. They have jewelry made from locally mined tourmaline. Portland or No. Conway are your best bets for a whole day of shopping though.
