Sunday in NYC
Greetings; we are 4 adults who have the pleasure of spending 4 days in NYC during the end of April. We have are planning our itinerary, and we're a little "stuck" for Sunday morning. We have been to NYC many times and on previous Sundays we have attended St. Patrick's, gone to the flea markets, visited the Met numerous times - although it's always wonderful - and we have strolled Central Park. We would like to know if anyone has suggestions for activates that we haven't done yet. Thanks in advance!

Have you ever taken a Big Onion Walking Tour? I hadn't until this past November, when I took my family on the Lower East Side-Chinatown-Little Italy walking and noshing tour. All of the guides are PhD's in History. The information is really interesting and it's a great way to see and learn about a neighborhood you've never experienced before. I especially recommend the "noshing" tour -- includes eats from the various ethnic groups in these neighborhoods. They have a website at www.bigonion.com.

My favorite Sunday in NY was brunch at The River Cafe (www.therivercafe.com), a four-star barge/restaurant anchored at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge with unparalleled views of the Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty and the East River boat traffic. Then we headed next door to BargeMusic (www.bargemusic.org) for chamber music at its best aboard a cherry-paneled barge complete with cozy fireplace and the same breathtaking views. It was wonderful.

Ellen,
Yikes! "Stuck on Sunday"? That's not possible in NY. I'm a NYer and one of the things that I love to do is hop on the 4/5/6 train and go grab dim sum in Chinatown in the morning. This part of the city is alive in the morning. It's fun to walk the streets and take in the sights and the sounds. Where to go? Try ny.citysearch.com for advice. I personally like Golden Unicorn, Dim Sum a Go Go, Mandarin Court - there's another place further down on Mott that I love and the name escapes me (Ping?)
All the posts here are great. I like the Sunday bike in the park idea.
