Sunday Brunch at the Plaza - NYC

We're going to be in NY next week and we are interested in having a nice brunch on Sunday, 6/9. I did a search of the site and noticed that the Palm Court at the Plaza is highly recommended. Does anyone have any insight as to the cost of brunch? Is it a buffet? And any suggestions on appropriate dress? Thanks so much in advance. We are soooo looking forward to being back in NY!

I was at the Plaza last June and I skipped the brunch because the line was incredibly long outside the Palm Court. It seemed unique in that everyone was very nicely dressed (think summer dresses on women, jackets, but no tie, on men) but the line was no different than that at a ticket booth at the state fair--just as noisy, a little gentle pushing and shoving. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful, as I don't remember the price. We ran out to a little coffee shop for great rolls, good coffee and the Sunday Times!

In Greenwich Village,Grange Hall.Great Brunch.
With the exception of the hotel, none of these is anything more than nice casual and not very expensive.

Shannon,

We were in NYC a few weeks ago and ate at the restaurant in LeParkerMeridien Hotel on 56th - the name escapes me - but by far was the best brunch food I have ever eaten. It was recommended by many on a previous thread.

Maureen -- You're thinking of Norma's at the Parker Meridien. Their menu is online and it looks delicious. I've never been there myself, but a friend swears by it.
