Sun Trips, Reliable?

I'm researching a trip to Hawaii and checked the web site for Sun Trips. The air fare posted from the west coast is reasonable but the web site says they are not accepting new reservations while they are generating new vacation packages. Has anyone booked with them? What were your experiences. Thanks

It's been many years since I've done a Suntrips vacation. They have probably come a long way since then, but here's why I never went back.

Trip to Oahu; Very old small, hotel. Nothing fancy but the prostitutes liked to hang out in front of it. On my last trip, I didn't notice too many around, so they've cleaned that up pretty well. Also, on the way home, something was wrong with the plane and because it is a charter, when something goes wrong you just have to wait till it's fixed. There are no other flight options. Needless to say, we were stuck in the airport for 6 hours. This trip was that bad which leads me to my next Suntrips adventure.

to Cancun; 3 unescorted women. Was supposed to be a 5star hotel. Well, it was under renovations but we were in an area that had not yet been renovated.Everytime you took a shower and someone else used the toilet, the water went ice cold. The toilet had it's own separte room with a 10 foot plexiglass sliding door. Everytime you tried to close the door, it would come off the track and you would get stuck inside. However, it had a phone inside but unfortunately kept falling off the wall and disconnecting when you tried to use it. The staff was very rude and actually confiscated some snacks we picked up at a local grocery store. Then they would come to our room in the middle of the night or early morning to see if we had more than the 3 of us in our room. It was very odd!Don't get me wrong, I still had a great time because of all the people I met, but when I came home I aired my dissatisfaction to Suntrips and they pretty much blew me off. They eventually gave me a $100.00 voucher to use within the next year; which I of course, let expire.

Now, I will say, I have talked with a number of people that have since gone with them and have been very happy. Some have done the entire package and others have used just the flights. No complaints; which may lead me to believe that they have come a long way and have improved.
