Summer weekend in Catskills - where to stay and what to do
We are going to spend a long weekend with friends in the Catskill NY area. There will be 3 couples and we are all active, outdoor loving and in the " nearing retirement" age.
The guys will have spent the week at a motorcycle rally in the area and the ladies will join them at the end of the week.
Although I grew up in Westchester and skied a lot at Hunter, I haven't been in the area in a long time. Windham seems to have some nice qualities that would appeal to us.
We like water, hiking, swimming and really just like spending time with each other. We do this at least once a year.
I have found http://www.albergousa.com and it looks really nice and is tripadvisors #1 B&B in Windham. We prefer a bit of luxury in our accommodations and we would prefer to avoid chain motels.
I am not locked into Windham and will happily accept suggestions for other towns, we do prefer mountains to valley. And if you can also suggest places to stay, that would be great.
Also, can you recommend some specific activities that we might like based on my comments above?
Thanks, as always, for your input.

Like you I have not spent any time in the Catskills in years, but do not be tricked by TA ratings. They are at the best capracious and the worst dishonest ratings either by the establishment itself or by a vicious competitor.
When I see a rating on TA, I think of the line from Borat,"She is my sister. She is number four prostitute in all of Kazakhstan."

Hi Deb,
This is a really nice resort in the Catskills:

Haven't stayed here personally, but have had friends who stayed and really enjoyed the facilities/area.
Hope this helps.
