Summer trip for 2 adults and a 10yr old

My friends are looking for a 4-5 day summer trip to make with their 10yr. old daughter. They hope to use some frequent flyer miles on Continental Airlines and would like the travel to be no more than 2-3 hrs. from Newark, N.J.. Any suggestions would be appreciated .Thanks

How about Bermunda with a "swim with the dolphin" or snorkeling excursion? New Mexico and/or Arizona are supposed to be great. Montreal and old Quebec City would be wonderful, as well. Also popular with both kids and parents is Virginia, including both historic Williamstown and Six Flags.

Yikes! I think I was half asleep. It's historic Williamsburg and Busch Gardens!

Another thought, Chicago is a fun city to go with kids. Lot of great museums and the Pier with all kinds of things going on in the summer. Also you can rent bikes and ride around and lake plus there's 2 baseball teams to choose from. Mexico is has some great beach resorts along the yucatan.

Montreal and Quebec City make a great trip and a relatively short flight from Newark. Myrtle Beach SC is another possibility.
