Summer lodging in Aspen

Do you have any thoughts on the Aspen Club Lodge, the Gant, and other condominiums in Aspen for a summer vacation?

Andrea, haven't actually stayed at the Aspen Club Lodge, but did view the lobby and a room for future reference. Thought it looked very nice. If you could afford it ask for a room with a mountain view. There are some that are on the lower level that look out into the bushes lining the side of it. You can't see through the bushes at all. I would love to stay there, if only the price were right for us.

I haven't stayed at the Aspen Club Lodge, but I have stayed at the Gant. It was quite nice and within easy walking distance (3 - 4 blocks?) of the downtown area.

I seem to recall the units are designed around tennis courts. If you stay there you may want to ask about the noise factor.

If you do go to Aspen, make sure you take the bus tour up to the Maroon Bells - a spectacular park just outside of town.

While in Aspen go for lunch at the Little Nell Hotel. Beautiful view - great food!

My husband and I have stayed twice now at the Aspen Square Condominiums, which are located across from the Little Nell and Aspen Club Lodge, just at the base of Aspen Mtn. First time , we got a 2 bedroom and shared w/another couple, last time, got a studio just for ourselves. Has perfect location:we go at July 4th each year, and req a view of Ajax Mtn to see spectacular fireworks. Rooms are spacious, have full kitchens, fireplaces, comfy furnishings, nice pool in the middle, walking distance to the only City Market, and to anything else for that matter. Prices are amazingly low during summer.
Then, last Sept we went to see the Aspen leaves turn GOLD and it was even more beautiful than summer or winter..hands down...we stayed at the St. Regis this time and brought our pet yorkie with us...5-star hotel...very nice.
Have fun. So much more to do in summer than winter! gO RAFTING!
