summer hols in and around arizona

I am planning to visit Arizona in late may 08 with my wofe and 18 year old son. WE are in the US for 3 weeks but also want to visit New Mexico , Bryde and Zion parks in Utah and Vegas. Our initial plan is 3 nights in Pheonis then to New Mexico either via Flagstaff or Show Low then after a few days back into Arizona staying one night at Kayenta and one at Lake Powell eventually ending up at Phoenix for a few days. Is the way to NM better via flagstaff or show low?? and what are the must sees around Phoenix/scotsdale. Cant get an Arizona tourist guide as they dont send them to England!!! We like scenic sights crafts and adventure (for an 18 year old)

I advise you to get ahold of one of the Lonely Planet guides. There is one for SW USA. They are available in UK.

Are you planning on driving? What sort of accomodations are you thinking about?

In addition to the Lonely Planet guides, there is also a Moon Handbook for Arizona, for Grand Canyon, and for Zion & Bryce. There are, of course, Fodor guides, too. All of these can be obtained in the UK from Amazon.com UK.
