Suite Hotels

We are looking for a suite for 4 adults. Some names that have come to our attention are Salisbury Hotel, Hampshire Hotel and Suites, Bedford Hotel and the Embassy Suites.
I know the Embassy is nice, but I am wondering if it is located too far away from everything. Has anyone stayed at the others and have some feedback for me?

Appreciate any help.

Richard,
I'm guessing you're asking about New York. We're staying at the Doubletree Suites on our upcoming trip. The hotel is right in Times Square so we're definitely near the action. The Doubletree used to be an Embassy Suites so you're probably familiar with the layout. The living room has a double pullout sofa and you have a choice of either 2 doubles or 1 king in the separate bedroom. Believe the suite has one bathroom. It also has a refrigerator and microwave. We've heard good things about the hotel but can't tell you much else at this point. It might be worth checking into, though.

I have a suite booked at the Salisbury for next month. I've never stayed there but the friend I'm meeting in NY has and she says it's a good value in a great location. I'm going to see if I can do better on Priceline though...

Richard,
Are you asking about Jackson, Mississippi? If so, the Embassy Suites are actually located in a pretty good area (comparatively). Make sure you don't stay out after dark though...

My family of four stayed at the Embassy Suites in NYC in July. The location up the street from the World Trade Center was about a five minute walk to the subway. The weekend rate was under 150.00 and included breakfast.
The hotel is across the street from Battery Park, which is a nice walkway along the Hudson River.
Since we wanted to get to the Statue of Liberty on the first boat of the morning, This was a perfect location for us, and the rooms were decent size with a tv in each of the two rooms.
The suite had a microwave oven, starbucks coffee and coffee maker
and microwave, but no fridge other than the stocked minibar, but i'm sure you could request one. There is a very nice Chinese restaurant in the same building and a movie theater as well.(Krispy Kreme Donuts up the street at the World Trade Center !!)
We did a little shopping at Century 21 and walked to Battery Park and
south Street Seaport. The subway ride to midtown was about 15 minutes, and there were plenty of cabs around the hotel.
Have a nice trip, wherever you stay
Sammy
