Suite hotel near Washington, DC

Looking for suggestion for suite hotel with reasonable parking fee near public transportation into Washington, DC for family vacation (parents and 2 teenagers). We will have a car because of route of trip before and after DC, but hope to leave it at hotel for trips downtown.

When I stayed at the Embassy Suites in Crystal City, they were offering free parking for AAA members. The Embassy Suites in Alexandria is closer to a Metro station.

Embassy Suites near Foggy Bottom, a block away George Washington Univ. There is parking on the street free. Also several lots a couple blocks away toward Kennedy Center.

Embassy Suites at Crystal City is very close to Crystal City Metro Station. Nice hotel, pool, parking underneath (enquire about parking fee)

Rosslyn has both a Courtyard (some suites) and a Residence Inn (all suites). I don't know what the fee for parking is, but the Rosslyn stop is the first one in VA for the Blue and Orange lines.

Our family stayed at St. James Suites in Foggy Bottom. One block to Metro. NIce brick building (a former girls school), intimate dining room for breakfast buffet, nice lobby, reasonable prices. Bedroom with two beds, plus pull-out in living room with kitchen and small dining table near window.

sorry -- GWU took over the St. James for dorm space this year -- maybe available again in January. Also, don't count on finding handy street parking in foggy bottom!
Also a Residence Inn in Bethesda, MD on the Metro Red Line. I'd choose Crystal City.
