Suggestions on 7 hour layover at SFO
Hi, My husband and I have a 7 hour layover at San Francisco International Airport in May 2023 from 1pm to 8pm. Would love to hear from anyone who has suggestions as what we can do in that time frame. Problem being we will have our luggage. Many thanks in advance.

If you are on one ticket then any checked luggage will have been checked through and you won't see it at SFO. If on separate tickets where they are not booked through - most airlines have a limit to how early they allow bags to be checked in -- often something like 3 or 4 hours. In any case, at minimum you will likely have your carry-ons - no matter which it is there is luggage storage landside in the International Terminal at the airport travel agency.
Are either flight international? That would make a big difference how much free time you have. Also - do you have Lounge access with any of the airline alliances/AMEX/etc?
This site has several ideas (I would eliminate the bus and car rental suggestions) https://thepilotwhoexplores.com/2022...layover-guide/

You could take BART into the City - but unfortunately most (perhaps all) of the stops it passes on the way to the Embarcadero have deteriorated in the past 5-10 years because of Covid & "remote working" causing downtown to become somewhat vacant & lifeless. And also the homeless/vagrant/street-drug problems.
If you can Uber, maybe take Uber to the corner of Union St & Fillmore and visit the Union St area Between Gough & Steiner, then walk 4 blocks north on Fillmore and visit Chestnut Street between Fillmore and Divisadero. Then walk north 6 blocks to the Marina Green area and Crissy Field (along the Bay). Walk west on the beach walkway to Fort Point. You'll see fabulous views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Uber back to SFO from there.

I just did a bit of quick research and found this company: https://www.cityunscripted.com/tours...-layover-tours. I have no idea of the quality of their tours but they might be worth checking out.
