Suggestions in California
Hubby and I are planning a trip to California in late August 08 and need some suggestions on hotels.
Considering the Monterey/Carmel area.
We like to bike (flat roads)blade, hike or anything active, but want to stay in a nice hotel, on or near the water, no camping or roughing it. Hubby likes some decent nightlife.
We would love an all-inclusive resort but I don't think any exist. If not, some type of meal plan would be great.
We plan to use FF miles so the air portion is covered. Any help out there?

There is a nice bike path that runs from Pacific Grove north to Seaside. You could also do the 17 mile drive by bike, but it's not all flat. There's only one real hill though. Maybe you'd like to rent kayaks and get out on Monterey Bay. There are several nice B&Bs in Pacific Grove, a couple of nice hotels near Canary Row and the Wharf in Monterey and of course, some great hotels on the 17 mile drive. In Carmel you might like Highlands Ranch which has a great view of the ocean.

I'd personally never do an AI in the Monterey/Carmel/Pacific Grove area. There are just too many wonderful places to eat. A B&B or hotel w/ breakfast included would be fine. But I for sure wouldn't want to have to eat at the hotel every night.
