suggestions for 5 nights in vegas?

Hi

Sister's 50th birthday week 5/12. We have show tickets to "O" one night and plan ?Hoover Dam and red rock trip? I don't think we want to do the helicopter tour....My first trip....Restaurant / view suggestions would be appreciated! We are not looking for "Red meat specialty"

Favorite clubs, shopping, can't miss idea's. We are staying at the Ventian.

Thanks so much!!

The Venetian is huge and full of restaurants.
I loved Pinot Brasserie.

It has been too long since I was there, but I loved Olives, t the Bellagio, for lunch and Mon Ami Gabi for lunch, at the Paris Hotel.
We ate at the Bellagio a lot, but I liked Wolfgang Pucks place in Ceasars too as well as Onda at the Mirage ..

You can shop at every hotel, Ceasars has the Forum shops , Bellagio shops are wonderful, you can go to Red Rock one day .. if you don't want a tour, you have to rent a car.
We really did not enjoy the drive to Hoover Dam..Lake Mead was nice to look at but not worth that long drive.

See Danny Ganz, a great show ..

I enjoyed seeing Hoover Dam. But we took a tour and left the driving to them! Very informative and it gets you away from the strip for part of a day.

I am going to Vegas also for 4 days.We are also going to take a Hoover Dam/lake mead tour. Think getting away from the strip for while might be a good idea.

estravel: Do you remember what tour company you used?

Since you are staying at the Venitian( lucky you). The Grand Lux cafe is excellent. Not for a fancy meal, but great food that won't break the bank. It's at the Venitian and we always go there for at least one meal.
Also the wax museum there is fun.

www.cheapovegas.com has tons of reviews. They look at each hotel, along with its restaurants, shopping and shows. There is SO much to do in Vegas!!

Bouchon is in the Venezia tower of the Ventian and is a great place for breakfast/Sunday brunch or dinner.
A lovely special occasion restaurant with great view is Alize at the Palms.
